Frosty Fairyland

I love the beauty of nature no matter what the season and was delighted to wake up to a sparkling fairyland-like world this morning. Every twig, branch, needle, leaf, stem, frond, and spire was coated with a twinkling frosting more spectacular than the most lavishly ornamented Christmas cookie. While admiring Mother Nature’s artistry, I captured a few photos right near the Levitt Center where our offices are located.

Yesterday, I took a two-hour winter hike along the deep, fresh, unmarked snow paths that circle my favorite marshland. Now frozen and quiet, there is still beauty in the landscape with its white contrasting against varying shades of brown, like an old-time photograph. Plowing along, I looked up and saw lines of deer and rabbit tracks lacing along the hillside, letting me know I wasn’t the only visitor there that day.

We all groan about the cold and dark days, but there’s enchantment to be found in all seasons, even winter.
