This past year, I’ve had many wonderful opportunities to meet and engage with young alumni in several cities.
In October, I worked with the University of Minnesota to create a joint program prior to the game between the Gophers and the Hawkeyes at Kieran’s Pub; the evening was successful and ended with a friendly trivia contest.
Iowa City has been the hub of great alumni activity. We had over 40 graduates in the area come to Red’s Alehouse to socialize by the large fire pit on an unseasonably warm November evening; then, we invited local alumni to mingle with members of the Second City comedy troupe after a hilarious performance of their Laugh Out Loud tour at the Englert Theatre.
We also recently hosted a speed-dating event in Des Moines, where some 60 participants and graduates from the UI, University of Northern Iowa, and Iowa State University tried to make a love connection at the Blue Moon Dueling Piano Bar and Restaurant.
Our upcoming event is in Milwaukee at the Horny Goat Brewing Company, where alumni will have the chance to meet area grads, play some sand volleyball, and enjoy some craft beers. You can register today at this page.
