Tuesday Trivia Answer: June 12, 2012

The answer to last week’s trivia question (“Which TV show, aired during the ‘90s, featured a character named to honor Iowa’s Hayden Fry?”) is:

Coach, starring Craig T. Nelson as Hayden Fox.

The show’s creator, Iowa alumnus Barry Kemp, 71BA, named the lead character to honor legendary football coach Hayden Fry. Though the show was set in Minnesota, producers featured exterior shots of the UI and downtown Iowa City to stand in for the Minnesota State campus. Kemp also created the popular show Newhart and wrote many episodes of Taxi.
