The 2009 season was a magical one for the Hawkeye football team.
It was the last time Iowa played at Michigan State, and the thrilling win on October 24, 2009, in Spartan Stadium has a place in Hawkeye history.
On fourth-and-seven, quarterback Ricky Stanzi found wide receiver Marvin McNutt in the corner of the end zone as time expired to give Iowa a 15-13 victory. The play left the 75,005-capacity stadium in stunned silence.
The win moved the Hawkeyes to 8-0 for the first time in school history and put Iowa at the top of the Big Ten standings with a 4-0 record in conference action. The squad finished the season 11-2, including a 24-14 Orange Bowl victory over Georgia Tech.
The Hawkeyes are hoping for some more magic Saturday.
