For most Hawkeye football fans, traveling to a bowl game means purchasing flight tickets, making hotel reservations, and packing suitcases. For Diane Lane and her fellow members of the Tampa Bay IOWA Club, bowl trips often mean tossing on a Hawkeye T-shirt and driving across town.

Postcards from alumni give record freshman class a warm welcome

University of Iowa alumni from around the country wrote more than 2,500 postcards to first-year students this summer.

A record number of incoming freshmen will arrive on the University of Iowa campus in the coming weeks. But big numbers hardly equate to an impersonal college experience, as many first-year students are learning even before arriving in Iowa City.

Hawkeye B1G Ten Championship Game Events!

2015 Big Ten Championship Game!

Congratulations to our Big Ten West Division Champion Iowa Hawkeyes, coached by Kirk Ferentz! The Hawks, the UI Alumni Association, and the National I-Club will travel to Indianapolis for the Big Ten Championship, where Iowa will face the East Division champion on Saturday, Dec. 5, at Lucas Oil Stadium. Dollars for Scholars

Fourteen UI students recently received IOWA Club Scholarships, thanks to the generosity of alumni across the country. This year, 11 clubs partnered with the UI Alumni Association to give more than $21,500 in scholarships to Iowa students who live in their communities.

Dog-Gone Happy!

Is there anything cuter than a fuzzy critter showing school spirit? We think not. Earlier this year, Las Vegas IOWA Club leader Kristy Hingtgen, 96BS, was unpacking a box of pom-poms—sent to her by the UIAA to use at Hawkeye gatherings—when she heard a rustling. Hawkeyes Huddle Up Tonight

We invite all Insight Bowl travelers and Iowa fans to attend the Hawkeye Huddle tonight from 6-9 p.m. (Arizona time) at the Phoenix Convention Center. The event will feature appearances by Herky, the Iowa cheerleaders, the Hawkeye Marching Band, and Gary Dolphin–the Voice of the Hawkeyes.

A Hawkeye Tree for the Holidays

Members of the Des Moines IOWA Club put on a sparkling display of Hawkeye pride at the 2011 Festival of Trees and Lights. The annual event helps raise funds for the Blank Children’s Hospital by auctioning some of the festive trees.
