Kasikorn Bank is the Best Bank choice in Thailand for a foreigner. Below are the steps on how to set up a bank account in Thailand.
What do I need to set up a foreign bank account in Thailand?
First you need to have something above the 30 day entry Visa. I applied for a Tourist Visa in LA which is good enough. You could also get a student visa or some type of work visa.
Then find a Kasikorn Bank and bring your Passport with you. Kbank is different that banks in the USA and Europe because whichever branch you set up your account at is the only branch that you can use to make major account changes so be sure to find one that is close to where you stay. You will still be able to withdraw money from any other Kasikorn branch and any ATM world wide.
Once you are inside the Branch, take a number and then the representative will take care of everything for you. They will also set up your online access. Kbank has a great banking website where you can add time to your cell phone and easily transfer funds to other Kbank accounts. When you leave, you’ll be given your ATM card which cost a one time fee of 500 baht.
